How often do we focus on our mental wellbeing? We take our mentality for granted. We have to remember that our mental breakdowns equally impact our wellbeing just like physical damage. Let’s look at a few effective practices that we can use to make sure that we are mentally healthy.
Being mindful
Being mindful about our mental state is essential to have a
good mental balance. This would allow us to know what type of steps we need to
take in order to channel our thoughts, feelings and emotions in the right
direction.
Self-love
We often forget to love ourselves and take care of ourselves.
Rest when you are tired and enjoy life when it’s time. Eat what you love and
what nourishes your spirit and upgrade your health. Appreciate yourself for what
you are what you have achieved so far. Set boundaries so that others cannot
disrespect you ever again.
Exercise
Regular exercise has proven to improve mental health by
reducing anxiety, depression and negative mood. Exercise has immediate effects
on the brain and changes the anatomy, physiology and function of the brain. Doing
exercises 3 to 4 times a week for approximately 30 minutes can change your life our the good.
Positive mental rehearsal
Thoughts become things. Looking at the positive aspect of
things & happenings and talking positive words are key to create a positive
mindset within us. Keep in mind that we attract what we think and say.
Reaching out
Reaching for support when needed is vital. Ignoring mental
breakdowns or not attempting to seek help due to various other reasons like
stigma or "it will just pass' could cost a lot. Talk to and seek help from a
professional when you need.
Cheers to mentally healthy life....
